Double Birthday parties are always a blast! I grew up doing double birthday parties, and i must say that the Lion House birthday with the porcelain dolls trumps pretty much anything else, BUT horse riding and feeding strange animals for your birthday is pretty far up there!!!! Have you EVER in your life seen a happier girl???? She was in heaven with the horses!!! I enjoyed feeding the animals more, but then again, i didn't get to ride the ponies. :(
Not everyone in the family was as inspired by horses. HA!

QUILTS

So, the top quilt (the blue and brown one) is one that I made for Matt and NIckole's new little man-child. They just had him and named him Lincoln. How flippin cute it that! Carrie said that he is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Can't wait to meet him.
The second quilt is a Tink quilt that I made for Marley, it even has an M and a Star for Marley Star. She loved it!!!! Now it is time to start on some Christmas projects. YAY!

Matching Hats

Super crazy weekend, don't want to talk about it. :) The great thing is though, knitting is a stress reliever, and now Enzo and I have matching knitted hats. Just what he's always wanted. I think that Enzo would rather have a hat with a pocket in it, so he can ride on my head for the rest of his life.

No, i didn't quit my job and start a quilting career. Just have needed some "cool down" time. So quilting and my lovely piano are now those outlets. Yay for my pretty piano. I will have to name it and photograph it, and stick it up here. But for now, you get quilt #2. this is for sweet Nali-bugs. That is why it says bugs. One thing to remember....If you have a fuzzy back (this one is chinelle), make sure that you do more than a 2'' binding so that you can have a bigger seam allowance to be POSITIVE that you catch all the fuzzy etc. Lesson Learned. :) Next quilt.....Marley's. She chose multiple shades of pink, and wanted it to have a puppy on it. Hmmmmm Not quite sure how that is going to work, but we'll figure it out.

So here is the most random post, but it pretty much sums up our last couple weeks. First of all we bought our camera. His name is Randall. he is beautiful, and he is 21 mega pixels of deliciousness. Some of the first shot taken by him

OK, second shot, This is what happens when you allow grammie to feed your mutts table food all of sunday afternoon...... just take my word for it, don't invite grammie next time. :)

Ok, so my photos aren't loading in the correct format, but I'm not blog-ged enough to know how to change it....oh well. So photo #s the rest are of my quilt a day program. This quilt was done with NO hand sewing. Yeah, you heard me right....NO hand sewing!!!! Machine quilted and bound. I still have feeling in the tips of my fingers, and I just finished it like 10 minutes ago. I think that i have found my new favorite binding. Watch out though, you can fry the batting as you are pressing. Who knew. :)

Sewing Night

I liked sewing night. The only ones who really got anything accomplished were Mom and Bear, but I busted this out at the last minute. Good times. Need to learn how to make patterns. :) Time for another sewing night!

Thanks Bear, for reminding me that blogs aren't best stagnant. :) You are so much better than me at blogging. So...the kids got haircuts today (they aren't real kids, they are dogs.) They just got their fringe cut, and their gooby little eyes, but it makes them look like a million bucks!
We got yelled at by an old man for playing airsoft up at the cabin. Just a great reminder that grumpy old people suck balls. :) Note to self....don't be a grumpy old person. Airsoft is still fun though, and it keeps me from getting too fat. It also keeps you on your toes a bit. Here are a couple photos from the Hobble Creek game. Courtesy of Justforfunairsoft.com.

Basement Update

So it’s been awhile since our last basement update. Things went pretty slow over the winter due to lack of motivation. I have been putting some hours in over the past couple weeks; a lot of the drywall is up now, only a few panels left on the walls and some trim work around the windows. I also have to frame out an arch for the kids playroom entrance.

Here is a picture of the main room (yes it's a mess, construction is and I spend so much time cleaning, only to have it messy 10 minutes later so I've given up doing it everyday) This is a panorama that I took freehand so it's a little distorted, but you can see most of the room.

I just got back from Haiti for a humaitarian trip with IASK (liftalife.org), and it was fantastic!!! We had a line every day for the dental clinic, we had a fantastic group, and we did a lot of good. Hopefully making a difference in people's lives. I learned a lot of creole, and ate lots of rice and hot stuff (that was un-identifiable), and got to chill with my favotire cousin whitney. What a fantastic trip!!!

Trains

So tonight Emily and I went on a "Date". Ha, that sounds so funny. We went to the train show at Thanksgiving point and saw a lot of cool model trains. It brings back some good memories. There was an exhibit that had American Flier trains, as I was looking around at the different trains, one rolled by and caught my eye. It was an old one from the early to mid fifties, exactly like my dads. It even has the exact same smell from the smoke. I had to have spent countless hours as a child laying on my stomach in my diaper, playing with Dad's train.

Emily and I are going to make a train board in our spare time. To start things out we bought a new Engine and some cars and some track because it was super cheap. And Emily bought a little set of pigs. This is an N Scale train. It's like and inch and a half tall, if that. It's awesome.

I wish I was as cool. The top photo is of Grandma Winn, she loved to say "heavenly Days" and "for hells sake". She was flippin rad. She was also a lunch lady which is sweet cause there is a rumor that someone has her recipes for peanut butter bars.
The next is of my parents. That is some sweet hair mom. how did you get it to do that??? LOL. My parents still look the same, just a little more excited about life.
The last one is of Grammie and Pa, I think that they were the ultimate 50's couple. Grammie could have been the movie star, and Pa the rich Italian.

He was the best dog ever. So smart, and not annoying. Ahhhh. Definately miss the Mr. Kelty Head
And the Jader Gader. Heaven help her for just being so BIG. Even though she'll put your eye out with her tail. I still can't help but just love her. Leaning, lap sitting, slobbering, tail whipping and all.
And last of all the Pay-holes. Voxel and Enzo. Keeping me up at night. Pouncing on me when I'm just about to sleep. The bladders that are the size of a ping pong ball, all the rutty fur. Ah, I LOVE MY DOGS!!!!! That is why Carrie bought new clothes and sox for them. Ha ha.

I own a house. I like it. It's the tallest house in my neighborhood which means that I can see overything from my little bird's nest. My favorite things about my house are: The fence that goes all the way around my backyard. The big open kitchen/dinig/living. The swimming pool sized bath tub in my Master Bathroom. This concludes the reasons why I love my house. I think that I am going to start a podcast. Any ideas on what it should be about?
